Regenerated Cellulose Fibers (RCFs) for Future Apparel Sustainability: Insights from the U.S. Consumers

نویسندگان

چکیده

An increasing number of apparel companies are inventing novel green technologies to produce regenerated cellulose fibers (RCFs) out textile waste. RCF can significantly reduce virgin cotton production and decrease waste in incinerators or landfills. However, our knowledge on U.S. consumers’ willingness purchase RCF-made is still limited given its newness. To address the gap literature, this study aimed identify factors influencing intention toward apparel. Building Theory Planned Behavior (TPB), a research model including attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, consumer effectiveness, past environmental behavior as predictors was proposed investigate The primary data were collected by Qualtrics survey consumers. A total 544 eligible responses gathered for analysis hypothesis testing. multiple regression method applied determining statistical relationships. Attitude, positively affect apparel, while effects norm control insignificant. Attitude plays partial mediating role between higher level leads more positive attitude greater likelihood exhibits good explanatory power, accounting 64.8% variance

Properties of Lignocellulosic Composites Containing Regenerated Cellulose Fibers

The aim of the paper was to examine the application of regenerated cellulose fibers as a reinforcement material in particleboard production. Single-layer, 10 mm thick panels, with the density of 800 kg/m3 were produced with addition of regenerated cellulose fibers in the range of 0 do 15% by mass during panels’ production. The mechanical and physical parameters of the produced panels were teste...

Characteristics of regenerated nanocellulosic fibers from cellulose dissolution in aqueous solutions for wood fiber / polypropylene composites

The effects of aqueous solutions were evaluated on the properties of regenerated cellulosic nanofibers prepared from pure cellulose fibers in various formulations of aqueous solutions. Thermoplastic composites were prepared with reinforcement of the regenerated cellulosic nanofibers. The regenerated cellulosic fibers from cellulosic woody biomass were obtained from dissolved cellulose solutions...

Regenerated cellulose for controlled oral drug delivery

The performance of regenerated cellulose (RC) films and capsules was investigated for their applications in oral controlled drug delivery. Regenerated cellulose films were prepared by non-solvent-mediated, phase inversion of native and depolymerized cotton linter solutions (methylolcellulose; cellulose dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide/ paraformaldehyde solvent system) in water as well as by phas...

Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose Resembling Vaginal Cuff Abscess

INTRODUCTION Application of oxidized regenerated cellulose is commonly performed in laparoscopy to achieve hemostasis during surgery. The appearance of an abscess resembles oxidized regenerated cellulose, causing imaging studies to be difficult to interpret. CASE DESCRIPTION We describe the cases of 3 patients who underwent oxidized regenerated cellulose placement during laparoscopic gynecolo...
